He retired from Empire District Electric Company as a maintenance foreman after working at the Riverton electric plant for 42 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific with the U.S. ![]() Shoemaker, a lifetime resident of Galena, passed away from this life at midnight, Thursday, April 30, 2009, at St John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following an illness. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Odaffer Memorial which will be used for his daughter, Brailyn. The family received friends Friday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Joe Hyde and Pastor Lynn Ragsdale officiating. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday, May 2, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Reita Sperry and one uncle, Victor Odaffer. paternal grandparents, Elmo and Imogene Odaffer, Parsons and his maternal grandfather, J. one sister and brother-in-law, Krista and Corey Thompson, Columbia, Mo. Survivors include his infant daughter, Brailyn Rochelle Ann Odaffer, Parsons his parents, Steve and Kipra Odaffer, Parsons one brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Lindsey Odaffer, Webb City, Mo. He also enjoyed tennis and enjoyed playing cards, video games and watching movies. He loved spending time with his daughter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Parsons. He spent a summer working with his cousin at Sperry Apiaries in Kindred, N.D. He then attended Labette Community College for two years. He later attended the Labette County High School and graduated with the Class of 2002. While he was in the third grade his family moved to Parsons, where he attended the Garfield Elementary School, Parsons Middle School and Meadowview Grade School. 8, 1982, in Muskogee, Okla., a son of Steve L. Survivors include his wife, Connie Jordan, Joplin his children, Octavia Jordan, her husband Ryan, Fred “Bud” Jordan, and his wife, Stephanie, and Aaron Jordan, all of Joplin grandchildren, Ryan Jordan, and his wife, Natalie, Stormie Riggs, and Kyle Higdon, Lynna Jordan, Xandier Schuster, Michael “Mikey” Endicott, Brandon Sewell, Regan Fruzza, Isabella Norsworthy, and Caden Norsworthy, all of Joplin three great grandchildren, Atticus Jordan, Eevee Jordan, and Ryder Sewell, all of Joplin siblings, Ruth James, and her husband, Ray, Janie Cupp, Charles Jordan, and his wife, Kim, Brian Jordan, and his wife, Kathy, of Oronogo, and Randon Jordan, and his wife, Valerie, all of Joplin a sister-in-law, Glenda Jordan, of Joplin and several nieces and nephews, also many friends.(NovemApril 27, 2009) Tyler Jason Odaffer, 26, of Parsons, died later Monday night, April 27, 2009, in a one vehicle accident near Mound Valley. He could sit and tell stories for hours and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Fred never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Helping everyone else before himself was a huge part of who he was as a person. Together they enjoyed raising their family, casino trips, lake trips and fishing. He was united in marriage to Connie Asher on Jin Joplin. Memorial donations may be made in Darlene’s name to Crosslines Ministries-Carthage. She is survived by her mother Anna Maggard of La Russell, MO, her husband Michael Kennon of La Russell, MO, one son, Wesley Nowell and wife Myranda of Vermillion, SD, two daughters Betty Hughey of Sarcoxie, MO and Sheresa Wendleton and husband Ronald of La Russell, MO, sixteen grandchildren Grace Keeling, Jaykob McKinnis,Riley Hughey, Malachi McKinnis, Faithlyn Hughey, Charity Hughey, William Pennell Jr., Dannielle Wendleton, Xavier Wendleton, Gabriella Wendleton, Jasmine Wendleton, Sophia Wendleton, Harper Wendleton, Adrian Samson, Eva Samson, Lily Nowell, two great grandchildren Khody Cornelius and Alyzah Cornelius, two brothers Keith Maggard and wife Vera, and Paul Maggard, and one sister, Pamela Ruble and husband Rob.įamily held memorial services will be held at Grace Pointe Assembly of God, 1605 S Baker Blvd, Carthage, MO 64836 on Saturday, Octoat 10 am.
